The space between

A lifetime of working creates a momentum that we need to manage as we shift to a new way of being and contributing in the world when we stop full-time work. Slowing down to be with ourselves during this really significant transition is so important to our wellbeing and to the future impact we’ll have.

This post is a great reminder of the benefits of taking a break after our retirement event and making time to honor the space between no longer and not yet (or as the Sufis call it, a “sacred drift”).

Don’t deny yourself this time to be with yourself and make peace with the change you’re in…celebrate your contributions and achievements, consciously let go of things you no longer need or want, be with difficult feelings that will come up, and listen to your heart to hear “what parts of you want air-time in the time remaining”.
